Countdown of 2011: Or more like the count up ...
1. Moved to Guatemala!!!! :)
2. Went through an election in Guatemala. That was very interesting to say the least. (Of course I didn't vote)... but it was choosing the lesser of the two evils. And if this guy doesn't prove himself during these next 4 years, then the guy that ran against him and lost will more than likely run again and WIN. Just bc people think, "oh darn, guess we should have voted for you in the first place." WHAT!! Crazy thinking.
3. Moved apt to apt ... my goal for 2012 is to live on every side of town!
Why is it sooo hard to find a place to live, you ask? Well, 1. because living by yourself is WAY OUT OF THIS COUNTRY expensive! Lets talk about making about 400$ a month and 1/2 of that is what rent costs every month. 2. Try finding roommates that aren't travelers ...psshh 3. Try finding a place that you like and want to walk home to everynight.
It is so hard. Everything around here is super expensive ... did I mention that? Plus all apts/houses for rent are at least 2-4 bedrooms. And if you happen to find a 1- room place it cost over 500$ a month - I don't even make that a month!!!!
So, what you find are rooms to rent with your own private bathroom and a shared kitchen and living space or sometimes you even have to share a bathroom. arraggh
4. Making wonderful, great, life-long friends. There are only a few that I would consider life long - but so thankful to have them!!
5. The rents and grandma visiting!!!!!
6. My two besties visiting!
7. Finding a super good guy to spend almost 8 months with!! He is a wonderful person (even though we are broken up now .... jajajajja)
8. Ability to buy fresh and cheap fruits and veggies everyday - that are locally grown!
9. Eating off of a 20Q a meal budget - roughly $2.50 a meal
10. Celebrating my birthday and New Years HERE!!!
What a great 2011 - and I am hoping for an even bigger 2012!
I love you friends and family and I hope to see and talk with you more.
